Kornelis Douwes Teenstra was a Dutch painter born in Groningen in 1813 and died in 1873. He is known for his portraits and genre scenes. One of his most famous works is 'Portrait of the Artist's Parents, Douwe Martens Teenstra and Barber Hindriks Siccama with Members of the Family' dated 1834.
