The Kremlin Armory Workshops were established in the late 15th century in Moscow, Russia. They were originally created to produce weapons and armor for the Tsar and his army. However, over time, the workshops expanded to include a wide range of craftsmen, including jewelers, goldsmiths, and painters. The workshops were vastly expanded in the 17th century by hiring many craftsmen of various specialties from handicraft centers in Russia and abroad. Today, the Kremlin Armory Workshops are part of the Moscow Kremlin Museums and are known for their production of high-quality jewelry, decorative arts, and other luxury items.
