Biography:
Kurt Gebauer is a Czech sculptor born in Prague in 1941. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague from 1960 to 1966. In 1968, he became a member of the Union of Czech Visual Artists. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad. His sculptures are part of public spaces in Prague and other cities in the Czech Republic. He is known for his abstract and figurative sculptures, often made of bronze, steel, and concrete. His work is characterized by a sense of humor and a playful approach to form and material. He has also worked as a teacher and has been a professor at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague since 1990.
