Born: 1975
Biography:
Kylie Stillman is a contemporary Australian artist known for her book sculptures and woodcarvings. She uses unconventional materials such as scalpel blades, jigsaws, sewing materials, and drills to alter objects and create negative spaces that depict 'signs of life'. Her artworks often feature birds, plant life, and the artist's own scribbles as subject matter. Stillman's practice draws from both modern art and craft traditions to transform ordinary materials into works of art. She has exhibited her work in various galleries across Australia, including the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Utopia Art Sydney, and the Tamworth Regional Gallery.
