Biography:
Lalu Prasad Shaw is an Indian painter and educator, born in Suri, West Bengal, in 1937. He studied printmaking at Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. His portraits are inspired by Indian miniature paintings, Ajanta cave paintings, and other traditional Indian art forms. Shaw is known for his use of tempera paint and his distinctive style, which combines elements of Indian and Western art. He has exhibited his work in galleries and museums around the world and has received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the art world. Shaw is also a respected educator, having served as a lecturer at Visva Bharati University and as the principal of Kala Bhavana, the fine arts faculty of Visva-Bharati University. He is considered one of the leading artists of his generation in India and continues to create and exhibit his work today.
