Lambayeque Culture

Biography:

The Lambayeque culture, also known as Sicán, was an ancient civilization that flourished on the northern coast of Peru between 750 and 1375 CE. It succeeded the Moche culture and is divided into three major periods based on cultural changes evidenced in archaeological artifacts. The Lambayeque people were skilled craftsmen who created intricate ceramics, metalwork, and textiles. They also developed a complex system of irrigation that allowed them to cultivate crops such as corn, beans, and squash. Despite their achievements, the Lambayeque culture eventually declined due to environmental factors and conflicts with neighboring civilizations.
