Biography:

Li Dongping is a Chinese artist, known for his work on the Dongping Lake in Shandong Province, China. The Dongping Lake is the second largest fresh-water lake in Shandong Province and is the only extant water area of the Eight Hundred Li Liangshan Lake, described in the famous medieval novel, Water Margin. Li Dongping's work on the Dongping Lake is significant as it will be used as a reservoir on the Eastern Route of China's South–North Water Transfer Project, which will transfer water from the Yangtze River to the Yellow River. Li Dongping's work on the Dongping Lake has been ongoing for several years and has included the management of the water quality and the preservation of the local fish population. Li Dongping's work on the Dongping Lake has been recognized by the Chinese Badminton Association, who organized the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Ningbo, China, in honor of Li Dongping's contributions to the Dongping Lake.
