Linda Simpson is a drag queen, photographer, and historian based in New York City. She was an active participant in the city's drag scene during the 1980s and 1990s, performing in and documenting the scene through her photography. Simpson has taken over 5,000 photos of drag performers and events, capturing the essence of the scene during its heyday. She has also hosted drag shows and events, and has been referred to as a 'cornerstone of New York drag and queer culture.' In addition to her work as a performer and photographer, Simpson has published a book of her NYC drag and club photos from the 1980s and 1990s, and has been the subject of interviews and articles in publications such as The New York Times, Paper Magazine, and NPR.
