Lorenzo Salimbeni was an Italian painter born in San Severino Marche, Italy in 1374 and died around 1418. He and his brother Jacopo Salimbeni were active painters in the late Gothic period, primarily in the Marche region of Italy. Lorenzo's works are characterized by their use of bright colors, intricate patterns, and a blend of traditional Gothic and emerging Renaissance elements. Some of his notable works include the triptych painting of the altarpiece of the Mystical Marriage of St Catherine in 1400, and frescoes in the Abbey of San Lorenzo in Doliolo, the Church of San Domenico, and the old Cathedral of Saint Maria della Pieve in San Severino. Lorenzo's style influenced other painters in the region, including Niccolò Di Liberatore, also known as ‘L’Alunno’.
