Lyric R. Cabral is a photojournalist, filmmaker, and cinematographer from Washington, D.C., United States. She was born in 1983. Cabral is known for her work in documenting stories that are seldom seen in mainstream media, particularly those that explore the intersections of race, surveillance, and social justice. Her directorial debut, (T)ERROR (2015), won an Emmy and was the first film to place filmmakers on the ground in an active FBI case. Cabral is also a recipient of the Women at Sundance Fellowship and has received funding from the Sundance Institute. She is a member of Firelight Media and Tribeca Film Institute.
