Magdalena Shummer, also known as Magdalena Shummer-Fangor, was born in 1930 in Lubliniec, Poland. She is an art historian and painter, known for her distinctive style of poetic realism. Shummer spent her youth and studies in Warsaw, but her adult life was spent abroad, including several years in Europe and over 30 years in the United States. She has been painting for over 60 years and has presented her work in numerous exhibitions. Shummer is the widow of the late renowned Polish-American artist Wojciech Fangor.
