Maks Karochkin, also known as Maksim Chmerkovskiy, was born in 1980 in Odessa, Ukraine. He is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor, known for his work in Latin-ballroom dance. He has been a professional dancer on the American television show 'Dancing with the Stars' since its inception in 2005. He has also appeared as a judge on the Ukrainian version of the show. Karochkin is a two-time World Latin Dance Champion and a 14-time U.S. National Latin Dance Champion. He has also appeared in various films and television shows, including 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Shall We Dance?'. He is also known for his work as a choreographer and instructor, and has worked with various celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Ricky Martin. He is also the founder of Dance With Me USA, a chain of dance studios in the United States.
