Biography:

Mami Kosemura is a contemporary artist born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1975. She is known for her work in photography and animation, often blurring the boundaries between art and its environment. Her early photographs and animations reference traditional subjects taken from classical European motifs and Japanese painting. She has exhibited her work internationally, including at the Hara Museum in Tokyo and Dillon + Lee gallery in New York. Kosemura is also the founder of AhmadyArts and Director of Asia Contemporary Art Week (ACAW) since 2006.
