Biography:
Margaret E. Foley was an American sculptor who worked in a Neoclassical style. She was born in northern Vermont and began whittling and carving at a young age. She became known for her sculpture, cameo carving, medallion portraits, and direct carving. Foley was active in Boston, Massachusetts and Rome, Italy. She died in Meran, Austria-Hungary in 1877.
