Biography:
Mariano Belmonte y Vacas was a Spanish painter born in Córdoba in 1828 and died in 1864. He was a disciple of the Real Academia de San Fernando and specialized in landscape painting. He participated in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts from 1856 to 1864, obtaining mentions and awards. His works include 'Vista tomada de la Casa de Campo de Madrid' and 'Cueva de las palomas (Valencia)'. He is also known for being the uncle of the poet Guillermo Belmonte Muller.
