Biography:
Matteo Calderoni was an Italian artist born in Venice in 1690 and died in 1760. He was a sculptor and engraver, known for his work on the Bucintoro, a ceremonial boat for the King of Sardinia, Carlo Emanuele III. He collaborated with Egidio Goyel on this project, which was completed in 1731. The Bucintoro is now on display at the Palazzo Madama in Turin, Italy.
