Biography:

The Mbuti people, also known as Bambuti, are an indigenous pygmy group living in the Congo region of Africa. They are known for their hunting and gathering lifestyle, and speak Central Sudanic and Bantu languages. The Mbuti are organized into small groups, and are known for their egalitarian and non-hierarchical social structures. They have had contact with European explorers and missionaries since the late 19th century, and have faced challenges such as attempts to settle them and introduce farming and Christianity, as well as contact with pastoralist peoples and tourism. Despite these challenges, the Mbuti continue to maintain their traditional way of life.
