Biography:
Mehtap Baydu is a Turkish contemporary artist born in Bingöl, Turkey in 1972. She studied sculpture at Erciyes University's Faculty of Fine Arts between 1996 and 1997. Her works have been exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions including Arter in Istanbul (2019), Künstlerhaus, Bremen (2018), Städtische Galerie Nordhorn (2022) where she was awarded the Art Prize, and at her own gallery, Galeri Nev. Baydu's art often explores themes of identity, gender, and social issues through a variety of mediums such as performance, video, installation, and textile.
