Michael Pineda is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who has played for several teams, including the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, and Detroit Tigers. He made his major league debut with the Mariners in 2011 and was named to the American League All-Star team as a replacement for Justin Verlander. Pineda has also been known for his impressive strikeout numbers, including a rookie season where he struck out 173 batters in 171 innings pitched.
