Biography:
Michael Victor Acier, also known as Michel-Victor Acier, was a French artist born in Versailles in 1736 and died in Dresden in 1799. He was a porcelain modeller and sculptor, educated at the Royal Academy in Paris. He worked in Saxony as a second master modeller in August 1764, arriving at Meissen at the end of the year. He worked as a modeller with J.J. Kaendler. He is mainly known for groups of figures and decorative objects in porcelain. He became a member of the Academy of Dresden. His masterpiece is the representation of the death of General Schwerin.
