In France, MICHEL LANSNE engraved a number of portraits, including at least 759 prints, featuring 13 portraits of King Louis XIII and 10 of his wife, Anne of Austria.
Lansne's work was influenced by various artists, including PHILIPPE DE CHAMPAGNE, DANIEL DUMONSTIER, SIMON VOUET, and CHARLES LE BRUN. He also made reproductive engravings after the Italian painters PAOLO VERONESE, FRANCESCO ALBANI, and TITIAN, as well as the Spanish painter JUSEPE DE RIBERA. Some of his notable works include a series of engravings, such as LOUIS II OF BOURBON, DUKE OF ENGHEN, AS A CHILD, which can be found in the collection of the MUSÉE DU CHÂTEAU.
