Biography:

Minton Ceramics Manufactory was an English pottery company founded in 1793 by Thomas Minton and Joseph Poulson. It was a leading manufacturer of earthenware, stoneware, bone china, Parian, encaustic tiles, mosaic, Della Robbia ware, Victorian majolica, Palissy ware, and 'Secessionist' ware. The company was a leader in ceramic design and was known as 'Europe's leading ceramic factory during the Victorian era'. The family continued to control the business until the mid-20th century. The products of all periods are generally referred to as either 'Minton' or 'Mintons'.
