Biography:
Mounir Fatmi is a Moroccan artist born in Tangier in 1970. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Casablanca, the Academy of Arts in Rome, the Casablanca Art School in Morocco, and the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. He currently lives and works in Paris, France. Fatmi's multimedia practice encompasses video, installation, drawing, painting, and sculpture, and he works with obsolete materials. His work often explores themes of cultural identity, globalization, and the impact of technology on society.
