Biography:

Muriel Binney, also known as Muriel Mary Sutherland Binney, was an Australian painter and inventor born in St Kilda, Melbourne in 1873. She won a silver award for a 19-meter long painting at an international exhibition in 1908 and a silver medal for her inventions in 1929 at the International Exhibition of Inventions. Binney was known for her watercolor paintings, including 'Panorama of Sydney Harbour, Panel II, Mosman to St George's Head'. She passed away in Parramatta mental hospital in 1949.
