Mykhailo Zhuk was a Ukrainian painter, book illustrator, graphic artist, and designer of ceramics born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1883. He left behind an impressive gallery of portraits of contemporary cultural figures and those from the past. His world outlook was greatly influenced by his experiences and the cultural context of his time. He died in 1964.
