The Fryderyk Chopin Institute, also known as Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina, is a Polish cultural institution established in 1945 in Warsaw, Poland. The institute is dedicated to the life and work of the famous Polish composer Fryderyk Chopin. The institute's mission is to promote and preserve Chopin's legacy, as well as to conduct research and educational activities related to his life and work. The institute is responsible for organizing the International Chopin Piano Competition, which takes place every five years in Warsaw, as well as for maintaining the Fryderyk Chopin Museum and the Fryderyk Chopin Society. The institute also publishes books, scores, and other materials related to Chopin's life and work. The institute is also known as the publisher of the Prasa publishing cooperative, which was a workers' publishing cooperative in Poland during the transformation of the press market in 1989.
