The National Bank of Poland, also known as Narodowy Bank Polski, is the central bank of Poland. It was founded in 1945 and is responsible for issuing the country's currency, the Polish złoty. The bank is headquartered in Warsaw and has branches in 16 major Polish cities. The National Bank of Poland is a member of the European System of Central Banks and represents Poland in this EU organization. The bank does not translate its name to English and uses its Polish name in all English communications.
