The National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., more commonly known as the National Baptist Convention (NBC USA or NBC), is a Baptist Christian denomination headquartered at the Baptist World Center in Nashville, Tennessee and affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance. It is also the largest body of organized African-American Christians in the world and the second largest Baptist denomination in the world. The NBC USA was formed in 1895 as a merger of the Foreign Mission Baptist Convention (org. 1880), the American National Baptist Convention (org. 1886), and the National Baptist Education Convention (org. 1893). The NBC USA has had several separations, including the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention (separated 1897), the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. (separated 1915), the Progressive National Baptist Convention (separated 1961), and the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship (separated 1992). The NBC USA is currently led by President Jerry Young and has approximately 21,145 congregations and 8,415,100 members.
