Biography:
Niall James Magee is a Northern Irish artist born in Belfast in 1997. He is known for his work in ephemeral sculpture materials such as sand, snow, ice, and fire. Magee is a graduate of Fine Art Sculpture from the Dublin Institute of Technology and is a member of the artist group Duthain Dealbh, which he formed with fellow graduates Daniel Doyle and Alan Magee in 2001. Duthain Dealbh specializes in large-scale sculpture projects and documentary and film making, and has participated in sculpture festivals and symposia all over the world. Magee's work in ice sculpture has been particularly successful, with him and his Duthain Dealbh colleagues winning first prize in international competitions in Latvia in 2006 and 2007. Magee's sculpture 'Russian science and Space exploration' was created in 2023.
