Biography:
Nour Asalia is a Syrian sculptor born in 1984 in Hama, Syria. She graduated from the Department of Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 2005 and obtained a Master's degree in aesthetics and contemporary art history from the University of Paris VIII. Her work focuses on capturing or preserving disembodied parts of the human body, exploring the dynamics of static and moving objects. Asalia has received several awards and recognitions for her work, including the first prize in sculpture at the 'Rencontre des jeunes artistes' competition in 2008. She is also a member of the Caravane Culturelle Syrienne association and an archive and aesthetics researcher at the Atassi Foundation.
