Olympe Boisse was a French modiste who opened her fashionable millinery and dressmaking shop on Chartres Street in New Orleans in 1851. She moved to Canal Street in 1864 and remained in business there for two decades. Madame Olympe was known for bringing Parisian fashions to the city of New Orleans, importing French millinery goods and trained dressmakers.
