Oren Eliav (b. 1975, Israel) lives and works in Tel Aviv. Exploring the link between image and imagination through painting, Eliav asks what is seeing, and what is knowing. Eliav’s paintings are concerned with the mental and physical relationship between viewer and painting. He uses art historical imagery and optical phenomena through painting, Eliav exposes the complex relationship between image and imagination. He is an Israeli Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1975. Numerous key galleries and museums such as Haifa Museum of Art have featured Oren Eliav's work. The Israel Museum, Jerusalem has also featured his work in a solo exhibition titled 'The Never-Ending Painting'.
