Orlando Azevedo, also known as Orlando Pingo de Ouro, was born in 1949 in Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal. He is a Brazilian artist who has lived in Brazil since 1963 and has dedicated himself professionally to documentary photography, as well as to authorial creation in his studio in Curitiba. He is known for his expeditions and long-term projects, and has had his work featured at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum. Azevedo has also published several books and has had his work exhibited in various countries around the world. He is also a musician and has been the leader, lyricist, and drummer of the rock group A Chave. Azevedo's work is known for his use of light and shadow in a style he calls 'Magical Realism'.
