Biography:

P.G. Tavenard was a French engraver who was born in France. He was active in the 19th century and is known for his engravings. One of his most famous works is an engraving of Charles X, the King of France from 1824-30. Tavenard also engraved a plate for a figure designed by C-L. Desrais. He is mentioned in the book 'The art of engraving : a practical treatise on the engravers' art, with special reference to letter and monogram engraving' and in the biographical and critical dictionary of painters and engravers from the revival of art under Cimabue to the present time. Tavenard's work has also been exhibited in the British Museum.
