Biography:

Paul L.G. Vlek, known as Vlek, is a Dutch artist born in Amsterdam in 1948. He is a professor at the University of Bonn and the Director of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) Div. Ecology and Natural Resources. Vlek has held several senior appointments in the field of ecology and development, including Division Director at IFDC in the United States. He is also a co-founder and former director of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn. Vlek is known for his work in the field of ecology and development, and has received numerous awards for his contributions, including the 2014 World Agriculture Prize.
