Biography:

Pol Dom was a Belgian painter who was born in 1885. He was a well-known member of the Hague art scene and a member of Pulchri Studio and the Haagse Kunstkring. He participated frequently in their exhibitions. Pol Dom, born in Antwerp in 1885, belonged to the Flemings who settled in the Netherlands for a shorter or longer period because here around 1910 the artistic climate was more progressive. From 1909 to 1910 and 1914 he lived in The Hague. He was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in his native city. Because the art climate in the Netherlands was more open and progressive than in Belgium, he lived between 1908 and 1910 in the Netherlands. Pol Dom died in 1978.
