Biography:
Pedro Paulo Bruno was a Brazilian painter, singer, poet, and landscaper of Italian origin. He was born on October 14, 1888, at his family home on the Paquetá Island, in the city of Paquetá, Brazil. He made his first sketches at the age of 7 and was recognized as a promising painter at the age of 9. Bruno became friends with painter Giovanni Battista Castagneto, who became his mentor. Bruno was also a talented singer and studied at the Conservatories of Naples and Rome, graduating in bel canto. He worked at the Conservatory of Rio de Janeiro and toured to Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and Santos. Bruno died on February 2, 1949.
