Philippe Parreno is a French contemporary artist, born in 1964 in Oran, Algeria. He lives and works in Paris. Parreno's works include films, installations, performances, drawings, and text. His work centers around expanding ideas of time and duration through his artworks and distinctive conception of exhibitions as a medium. He began examining unique approaches to both narration and representation in the 1990s and has been exhibiting internationally since. Parreno's collaborations with other artists, such as Pierre Huyghe, Liam Gillick, and Rirkrit Tiravanija, have also contributed to his reputation in the art world.
