Biography:
Pompilio Mandelli was an Italian painter who belonged to the Art Informel. He was also a teacher and president of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. He was born in Luzzara, Italy in 1912 and died in Bologna, Italy in 2006. He was awarded the Golden Neptune prize by the City of Bologna in 1974 for his contributions to the city's cultural heritage. He is known for his abstract and expressionist paintings, and his work has been exhibited in galleries such as Gallerie di Piazza Scala in Milan and Finestre sull'Arte. He is represented in the collections of Fondazione Cariplo and the Banca Commerciale Italiana.
