Biography:

The Ptujska gora workshop, also known as the Ptuj's Hill Workshop, was a medieval sculpture workshop active in the 15th century. The workshop was located on Ptujska Gora, near Ptuj, Slovenia. It is renowned for its exquisite Gothic sculptures, particularly the group of St. Barbara, St. Catherine, and Sočutne, which are considered some of the most outstanding works of European Gothic sculpture. The workshop's masterpieces were created in the early 15th century and reflect the international Gothic style. The Ptujska gora workshop was likely established around the time of the construction of the pilgrimage church on Ptujska Gora, which was built around 1400 and dedicated to the Virgin of Mercy.
