Biography:

Rahim Chitrakar is a leading, young Patachitra artist from Pingla block of Paschim Medinipur district in India. He started learning the art at the age of eight and has since won several awards, including the district prize in 2005. He is the son of master artist Dukhushyam Chitrakar. Rahim Chitrakar is known for his technical virtuosity and has taught Bharatanatyam at Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra in Delhi for many years. He has conducted various workshops in many schools and colleges in India and has visited various festivals and fairs in Delhi, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Pune, and other cities. He has also visited Japan and Bangladesh. Rahim Chitrakar is the winner of the State Award and has been featured in several publications and websites, including Arts and Culture, HIPAMS, MutualArt, and Bengal Patachitra.
