Biography:
Rai Venkatachallam was a court artist in Hyderabad, India, during the late 18th century. He was known for his opaque watercolor and gold on paper paintings, including a portrait of Henry Russell, a 'White Mughal'. He also painted a portrait of Nizam II on a hunting expedition, which is currently housed in the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad.
