Biography:
Reiner Ruthenbeck was a German sculptor and conceptual artist. He began his career as a photographer documenting performances by Fluxus artists, the Zero Group, and Joseph Beuys. At the end of the 1960s, he studied under Beuys at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Ruthenbeck was known for his minimalist sculptures and installations that often explored themes of absence and emptiness. He exhibited widely throughout Europe and North America during his lifetime.
