Biography:
Reverend William Bree was a British artist and clergyman. He was born in Allesley, near Coventry, England, in 1753. Bree studied at Oxford University where he befriended Heneage Finch, the Fourth Earl of Ayleford. He became the rector of All Saints' church in Allesley and was known for his knowledge of natural history, particularly butterflies. Reverend William Bree contributed to various publications on this subject. His artwork includes watercolour drawings such as 'Farm buildings'. He passed away in 1822.
