Biography:
Robert De Longe, also known as Robert de Longe, was a Belgian painter born in Brussels in 1646 and died in Piacenza, Italy in 1709. He was known as il Fiammingo in Italy, where he was active in Cremona and Piacenza. He was influenced by Italian painters such as Sebastiano Ricci and Giovanni Evangelista Draghi, and his masterworks include the cupola of the Oratory of San Giovanni in Cortemaggiore (1705) and the interior of the dome of the church of Santa Brigida in Piacenza. He is said to have influenced Cavalier Tempesta.
