Robert Field was a painter who was born in London, England, and died in Kingston, Jamaica. He was one of America’s leading miniaturists. Along with being active in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he spent fourteen years in the United States, working as a miniaturist in Baltimore and other cities. He was known for his highly accomplished and professional work.
