Biography:

Robert Newton Sudlow was born on February 25, 1920, in Holton, Kansas. He fell in love with the picturesque beauty of the rolling plains of rural Kansas as a child. He was inspired to capture the essence of the Kansas landscape, making it seem alive in his paintings. Sudlow earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1942 from the University of Kansas, where he later taught as a professor emeritus of art. He was a nationally known impressionistic landscape artist and was known for his paintings depicting the Kansas landscape. Sudlow died on March 25, 2010, at the age of 90.
