Salvatore Lo Forte, also sometimes written Loforte, was an Italian painter born in Palermo in 1804 and died in the same city in 1885. He painted in a neoclassical style and was active mainly in his native Palermo. Salvatore Lo Forte received a scholarship from the Municipal government to study under Vincenzo Camuccini in Rome in 1824.

Early Life and Training

He began his training under the tutelage of local artists in Palermo before moving to Rome to study at the Academia di Belle Arti.
