Born on December 27, 1921, in Moscow, Russia, he came from a family of actors, with his parents being Nikolai Alekseyevich Kolosov-Mayevsky and Lyubov Isidorovna Frank. Kolosov's life was marked by significant events, including his participation in the Winter and the Great Patriotic War.

Early Career and Education

From 1948 to 1951, Kolosov worked as an assistant director in the Russian Army Theatre, while simultaneously studying at GITIS. After completing his studies, he became the director of the Moscow Theater of Satire from 1952 to 1955. In 1955, he began working at the Mosfilm studio, where he made his debut with the film "Soldier's Heart" in 1958.
