Biography:

Serhij Schyschko, also known as Sergey Shishko, was a Ukrainian artist born on June 25, 1911, in Nosivka, Ukraine. He studied at the Kyiv State Art Institute and was active from 1930 to 1997. Schyschko was a prominent figure in Ukrainian art, being named a People's Artist of Ukraine in 1964 and a People's Artist of the USSR in 1974. He was also a laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in 1982. His works are primarily in the genres of landscape and still life, and he is known for his use of oil on board. He passed away in Kyiv in 1997.
